Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some answers to your frequent questions

Do I need a VR headset for a better experience of the 3D models?

No, the models you see on the website do not require a VR headset and can be viewed simply through your PC or phone. If you wish to explore the VR experience, we have currently made it possible on Sketchfab

What software was used to create the 3D models of these sites?

Three different softwares were used for each step within the production process: Adobe Bridge was used to pre-process the drone and handheld camera images. These were then exported to Agisoft Metashape where the models were developed while post-processing was done using Unity.

How can I view the models of these sites?

The orthomosaics, DEMs, and point clouds of each site, can be downloaded from the Additional Site Resources section. They require special softwares to be viewed and used. Some of the softwares you can use are ArcGIS, Adobe Photoshop, QGIS, CloudCompare, Blender.

Where can I go to continue my research into the history of the Indus Delta?

A Bibliography has been created from the sources we used for our own historical research. These include primary source documents, papers, archaeological reports, maps, illustrations, and secondary source books. Good luck and feel free to contact us if you need any further help.
